- Professional PLC programming and structured code practices (preferred Beckhoff TwinCAT)
- Machine design and motion system sizing (gantries, robotics, conveyors, actuators)
- Safety systems design and implementation (safety PLCs, relays, ANSI/RIA, OSHA)
- Electrical design and panel build knowledge (NEC, NFPA, UL508A)
- HMI/SCADA/IoT experience (MQTT, OPC-UA), operator-focused HMI design
- Fieldbus and industrial networking (EtherCAT, Profinet, Ethernet/IP)
- Robotics programming and integration (preferably ABB)
- Hands-on troubleshooting with multimeters, oscilloscopes and diagnostics
- Familiarity with CAD/PLM tools and designing for manufacturability
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and manage automation projects from concept through commissioning and operational hand-off
- Architect, write, and debug organized, maintainable PLC code for high-volume manufacturing
- Implement ANSI/RIA 15.06 / OSHA-compliant robot and machine safety systems
- Design user-friendly HMI screens and machine-health monitoring for operators and technicians
- Develop electrical systems and panel layouts compliant with NEC, NFPA, and UL508A
- Perform machine sizing, motion system integration, and robotics integration
- Create schedules and budgets and drive teams to meet milestones and production targets
- Troubleshoot and optimize electro-mechanical and control systems during development and production ramp
Education
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, physics, or computer science
- Relevant coursework or practical experience in controls, electrical, or mechanical systems
