Skills
- Experience with environmental testing (HALT/HASS, thermal, humidity, shock & vibration)
- Proficiency with test & measurement equipment (oscilloscope, multimeter, spectrum/network analyzer, VSG, SMU, electronic load)
- Circuit and PCBA analysis and functional test plan development
- Knowledge of RF principles as applied to antenna/ground hardware
- Programming skills for test automation and data analysis (Python, C/C++)
- Understanding of electronics reliability, manufacturing, and failure mechanisms
- Familiarity with metrology, measurement error sources, and uncertainty analysis
- Strong root cause analysis and quality tool usage (Lean, Six Sigma, RCA)
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and execute environmental, RF, mechanical, and electrical test solutions for ground antenna electronics and payloads
- Perform detailed failure analysis to identify root causes and implement corrective actions
- Select COTS or design custom PCBAs and test fixtures to measure signals and apply flight-like loads
- Provide hands-on hardware support through design qualification, production ramp, and ground network rollout
- Collaborate with mechanical, thermal, software, test, supply chain, and silicon teams to deliver integrated hardware
- Perform electrical bench testing to reproduce and mitigate anomalies
- Build physical and digital tools to collect and analyze lab and field data and drive design improvements
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or other STEM discipline (required)
- Master’s degree in related engineering field (preferred)
