Reliability Engineer (Hardware)
Skills
- Design and execution of reliability qualification tests for semiconductor/photonics devices
- Failure analysis using SEM, TEM, FIB and other microscopy and inspection tools
- Experience with reliability stress methodologies (HTOL, HAST, TDDB, TC, HTHH)
- Knowledge of device physics, failure mechanisms for SerDes/digital/mixed-signal ICs
- Understanding of packaging reliability risks (TSV, solder joints, warpage, metal migration)
- Statistical reliability analysis (Weibull, Minitab, JMP) and data-driven lifetime modeling
- FMEA and systematic root-cause investigation experience
Responsibilities
- Develop reliability test plans aligned with product requirements, industry standards, and customer expectations
- Execute reliability qualification testing (HTOL, HAST, TDDB, TC, HTHH, etc.) on photonics and semiconductor components and modules
- Perform FMEA to identify and mitigate reliability risks in device design and manufacturing
- Lead root cause analysis of failures using tools such as SEM, TEM, FIB and coordinate corrective actions with design and process teams
- Establish internal reliability guidelines and standards to meet customer and industry benchmarks
- Apply statistical analysis and reliability modeling (Weibull, life prediction) to interpret test data and forecast field lifetimes
- Prepare and present detailed technical reports, risk assessments, and qualification results to stakeholders
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or related field (required)
- Master’s or PhD in a related technical discipline (preferred)
