Fixing our K-12 education system is a civilizationally-important problem. We believe that all of our problems — including the ones that dominate the headlines — are downstream of education.
We have a simple thesis on how to solve it: empower 1,000's of educators to launch microschools in their communities.
We believe the historical tradeoff between price (tuition) and quality is a false dichotomy.
PrimerOS automates and eliminates much of the costs of traditional schools. Microschools have a structural advantage — asset-light real estate — which means much lower capex and opex. You put it together, and you get something that's never existed before: a world-class education that's accessible to normal American families and can rapidly scale.
We’re hiring Primer’s first group of Market Managers - a high impact role that serves as Primer’s operational leader within a city and reports to the General Manager of Texas. You’ll be accountable for the growth and operations of Primer in San Antonio, which is launching during the ‘26-’27 school year with several new campuses. Texas is a critical state for Primer and San Antonio is a “must win” city, so we need someone exceptional.
We’re looking for an executor who is comfortable operating in high opacity and keeping multiple balls in the air. You’ll be launching new Primers, which means ensuring we have the right real estate, students, and operational systems. You’ll be managing ongoing operations to ensure that our families and students have a delightful experience. You’ll also be responsible for growing enrollment for both new and existing Primers. And finally, because this role is brand new, you’ll have an opportunity to help design the role, build playbooks, and influence what success looks like for future hires.
You might spend your morning working with the real estate team to evaluate a new location, your afternoon re-designing the pickup/drop-off plan for an existing campus, and your early evening meeting with families to help them determine if Primer is a good fit for them.
As our footprint in San Antonio grows, this role will continue to evolve. Over time we expect this role will lead a team, so we need someone who is excited by that and has proven they’re able to develop and inspire others.
What we’re trying to do is extremely hard – there’s a reason it hasn’t been done before. There’s a good chance this role will be the hardest work of your life. If you find that slightly-daunting-but-exciting, this might be the role for you.
Project manage Primer’s expansion in San Antonio, including all aspects of launching several new Primers across the city and surrounding areas
Own Primer’s operations in San Antonio, including developing processes from scratch as we learn what works
Partner with real estate, education, operations, marketing, and admissions teams to ensure the success of every Primer in San Antonio
Drive student growth by testing new local strategies. When they work, you’ll help playbook the ideas so they can be leveraged in every city
Own many of Primer’s local relationships, including families and leaders in the education community
Eventually, manage a team as we grow Primer’s footprint
You’re a builder and self-starter. You don’t need to be told what to do. You have experience navigating ambiguity and creating scalable systems out of chaos.
You can execute at a fast pace while holding a high bar for quality. This may sound a bit cliche, but it's incredibly important.
Experience managing a team in a fast-paced and evolving environment
Past accountability to aggressive growth, revenue, operating margin, and expansion targets
Proven ability to build strong relationships both internally and externally
A generalist willing to roll up their sleeves and get stuff done - both in the weeds and at the strategic level
If this sounds like you, fill out the application below with a bit about yourself and we'll take it from there! If you have any questions, don't hesitate to email us at [email protected].
