Director, Membership Growth & Retention

Oura is a consumer health company focused on helping people improve readiness, activity, and sleep using the Oura Ring and app. They seek a strategic, data-driven Director of Membership Growth & Retention to lead membership strategy, drive lifetime value growth, and operationalize retention and monetization initiatives across product, marketing, and commercial teams.

Skills

  • Strong analytical fluency and ability to translate data into actionable strategy.
  • Proven experience designing and evolving subscription or membership models.
  • Expertise in lifecycle retention, engagement, winback, and loyalty programs.
  • Experience building forecasting, segmentation, and retention measurement frameworks.
  • Track record of data-informed experimentation and personalization initiatives.
  • Ability to influence senior stakeholders and align cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

  • Define and evolve membership business model across pricing, packaging, add-ons, channels, and geographies.
  • Develop and execute retention-first strategies to increase engagement, reduce churn, and grow lifetime value.
  • Design and operationalize scalable membership programs such as loyalty, bundles, and international expansions.
  • Establish forecasting frameworks and membership health metrics (activation, engagement, retention, churn, LTV) in partnership with finance and analytics.
  • Champion segmentation and personalization to improve member journeys and relevance.
  • Drive experimentation and test-and-learn cycles with clear success metrics and learning loops.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Marketing, and Commercial to deliver the membership roadmap.
  • Communicate membership strategy, progress, and impact to senior executives and the board.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
  • Advanced degree (MBA or similar) preferred but not required; relevant professional experience accepted in lieu of degree.
