The Oregon Military Department is a state agency that supports the Oregon National Guard. You are NOT required to be a member of the Oregon National Guard to apply for this position.

The Oregon Military Department is recruiting for a Office Specialist 2. This is a permanent full-time state position located at the Rees Training Center in Hermiston, Oregon.

This position is represented by the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees’ (AFSCME) union.

What You Will be Doing
Assist the Facility Manager and Maintenance Operations Supervisor with administrative and clerical duties, serves as the facility receptionist, disperses mail, and assists with vehicle checkout and scheduling. Provides administrative support to the fire program, sorting, researching documents, filing, processing and correlating.

Working Conditions
Sits or stands at workstation for prolonged periods accomplishing data entry and coding-related duties. 

This position May be exposed to industrial noises.

What You Need to Qualify
Two (2) years of general clerical experience that includes keyboarding, word processing, or other experience generating documents.

An associate degree in any field. 

***OR***

An equivalent combination of education and experience.

Additional Requirements

Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record. (This position requires travel within the geographic boundaries of the assigned maintenance area).

Skills Needed to be Successful in the Position

Computer skills that include Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Teams and Outlook.

Experience IEMS (Integrated Engineering Management System).

Conditions of Employment

Must have and maintain a favorable Criminal background History check and be able to obtain and maintain a favorable Department of Defense National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) Suitability Determination (T1). (Conviction of a crime will not automatically preclude appointment, the circumstances involved in the conviction will be considered).

Employee is required to maintain a drug/alcohol free workplace in accordance with OMD Drug/Alcohol CPM’s, Policies, and the Statewide Drug Free Workplace Policy 50-000-01.
