Join the Oregon Department of Land Conservation and Development (DLCD) as a Housing Planner in our Housing Services Division! This new position was created by the passage of House Bill 2258 to lead projects. Projects include: 1) directing technical assistance, review, and enforcement for required housing planning activities for cities in Oregon with population greater than 10,000 and Washington, Clackamas, and Tillamook Counties; and 2) co-facilitating rulemaking activities related to updating Oregon Administrative Rules (OARs) regulating the development of middle housing and other housing types. This position is situated within the Housing Division’s “Urbanization Wing” which maintains the deep connection between planning for housing needs and urban growth. The person in this position will also work closely with the other sections of the Division to operationalize the elements of the Statewide Planning Goal 10 – Housing program.
The occupant will use research and analysis to work with local governments in adopting and amending land use plans and codes involving housing to minimize and eliminate negative impacts on marginalized communities. It is advantageous for the occupant of this position to have lived or professional experience serving individuals from these historically and current underserved and under-resourced communities.

Minimum Qualifications
A bachelor's degree in urban or Regional Planning, Public Administration, Social Science, Civil Engineering, Architecture, Economics, Geography or a related field AND three years of progressively responsible planning experience related to the job;
OR
Note: A master’s degree in Regional Planning, Public Administration, Social Science, Civil Engineering, Architecture, Economics, Geography or a related field may substitute for one (1) year of experience.
Six years of planning experience related to the job;
OR
An equivalent combination of relevant education, training, and experience.
