Oregon State Hospital, a Joint Commission and CMS certified public psychiatric hospital, provides psychiatric hospital services and patient treatment services to persons committed by the Oregon courts as part of the state mental health system. The Oregon State Hospital is the largest division of OHA with over 2,600 positions across the hospital.
The Director of Training & Education (Business Operations Manager 3) is a key part of Oregon State Hospital's operations, reporting directly to the Deputy of Finance & Administrative Operations, under Finance and Operations. The Finance and Operations department guides and oversees administrative and business operations across the hospital system.
The Director of Training & Education will oversee OSH training, education and policy coordination functions for the hospital and oversees a department that evaluates and delivers all training, education, staff development initiatives and policy coordination. The purpose of this position is to lead the collaboration with other leaders to promote best practices for workplace learning, engagement and support.

Position requires the incumbent to work a professional work week where the hours of work fluctuate on a daily and weekly basis. Works in an office environment. Position may work a hybrid telework schedule. Is subject to fluctuating workloads and priorities in dealing with highly complex, sensitive and/or political issues. Occasional travel requires that the incumbent have a valid driver’s license or an alternative form of transportation.
