Job Description

The role is open to San Francisco, Chicago, New York City, or Detroit dependent upon where the candidate is currently located.

Join us in changing the way the world works. We’re much more than a digital resume – we transform lives through innovative products and technology. We are looking for a Sales Leader to join our global LinkedIn Marketing Solutions team as a Manager within the Online Sales Organization (OSO)’s New & Emerging Business team. OSO is a fast-paced, innovative team that is transforming how advertisers connect and build relationships with their customers.  

You will lead a team of Account Executives and Client Solutions Managers who are responsible for consulting with Startups and other high-potential companies who are new to our ad platform, helping them achieve their growth objectives by utilizing best-in-class products and services. Your team helps to ensure their long-term success in our ecosystem with LinkedIn’s full-funnel Marketing Solutions products.  

Your goal is to grow Marketing Solutions sales revenue. You will live the LinkedIn Culture and Values, help build and grow the team, work with the management team to set strategy and go-to-market, and create a strong operational infrastructure that sets the business up to scale. You will also coach Account Executives and Client Solutions Managers on value-forward selling. You will coach and develop your team’s skills and career. Finally, you will partner closely with Go To Market Operations, Marketing and Sales Enablement teams.      
 
Responsibilities:    

  • Inspire a Team - The successful Sales Manager is a strong People Leader with an aptitude for Sales and Operations. You will act as a coach to the team and help your ICs develop their skills and careers.  You will proactively identify growth opportunities for the team and business. You will influence relevant internal stakeholders to drive innovation and performance excellence while keeping your clients’ best interests in mind. You will act as an internal advocate for your team to ensure they are successful. You will identify and evangelize best practices for go-to-market and team operations. You will work on team and business projects as needed.  

  • Drive Engagement - Coach your team to establish trusted relationships with our clients by providing high quality customer engagement activities (consultative meetings, training, quarterly business reviews, events).    

  • Drive Revenue and Results - Proactively identify growth opportunities for the business, team, and our clients. Launch new ideas and iterate until you find the right recipe for success. Being able to influence and develop others without direct reporting relationships is critical. The Sales Manager will be on a quarterly sales compensation plan.   

  • Elevate the Overall Customer Experience - We place great emphasis on delivering exceptional customer experience and it is the job of the Sales Manager to make sure we support our customers’ business with excellence. We want our customers to want to work with us because they love our products and doing business with us.

  • Excellent communication skills including active listening, written and verbal across all channels. 

  • Partner closely with TA on AE and CSM hiring and recruiting. 

  • Strengthen the Company - We expect our Sales Managers to act like owners and have an impact outside of the core sales function by demonstrating leadership, providing leverage and producing results to help us scale effectively.  We need to do more with less and think globally to achieve our goals.      
      

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:   

  • 7+ years of work experience in sales, specifically in digital media // online advertising industry 

  • 2+ years of work experience and proven success selling into B2B startups and/or B2B Tech customers 

Preferred Qualifications:   

  • 1+ years of experience managing a team  

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent experience  

  • Sales Management experience in Media and Advertising    

  • Demonstrated achievement in developing talent and delivering strong revenue results   

  • Experience collaborating with internal and external stakeholders with strategic, cross-functional and process improvement projects

Additional Information

LinkedIn is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices.   

The pay range for this role is $248,000 to $379,000(On Target Earnings) Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. This may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor.
