Senior Backend Software Developer, Cloud, Data and Platforms
Skills
- Strong Java experience (Spring Boot preferred)
- Experience with Go as a backend language
- Familiarity with streaming/queuing systems (Kafka, NSQ) and Kafka Connect
- Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases (MySQL, Postgres, DynamoDB, MongoDB, Apache Pinot)
- Experience deploying and operating services on Kubernetes and container platforms
- Knowledge of authentication/authorization patterns (JWT, public-key encryption)
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred) and CI/CD workflows
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain high-frequency sensor data ingest pipelines using Java, Go, Kafka and Kafka Connect
- Enhance and support authorization/authentication systems (JWTs and related crypto)
- Monitor service health, propose improvements and deploy your services
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align on initiatives and technical specs
- Maintain and improve service level objectives (SLOs) and reliability targets
- Automate deployments and validation with CI/CD and testing suites
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field, or equivalent practical experience
