- Strong debugging skills and passion for root-cause analysis
- Experience with source control (git) and continuous integration workflows

- Understanding of secure system design and operational security considerations
- Comfort working in multiple programming languages; Go and Rust are strong pluses
- Experience with distributed systems, performance optimization, and latency-sensitive code
- Familiarity with databases (PostgreSQL, ClickHouse) and large data analysis
- Unix systems knowledge and experience with monitoring/alerting tools
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and operate software running at the edge of Cloudflare’s global network
- Develop and maintain distributed systems that are secure, performant, and resilient
- Debug and diagnose complex production issues across networking, storage, and compute stacks
- Design and implement APIs and integrations used by internal and external services
- Optimize systems at the protocol and implementation level (e.g., TLS/HTTP, TCP/IP)
- Implement monitoring, alerting, and observability for high-volume services
- Participate in on-call rotations to respond to incidents and outages
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to scale services and improve reliability
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
- Or equivalent professional experience in software engineering
