Platform Engineer

This role offers an exciting opportunity to design, implement, and maintain scalable infrastructure and cloud-based systems that support high-impact civic tech initiatives. You will work on Infrastructure-as-Code, CI/CD pipelines, containerized deployments, and cloud environments, helping deliver reliable and efficient solutions. The position involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams, solving complex technical challenges, and mentoring other engineers. Ideal candidates are proactive, detail-oriented, and skilled in modern DevOps practices, with a strong focus on automation, system reliability, and continuous improvement. Your contributions will directly impact the success of projects that serve critical government and enterprise clients.

• Accountabilities:
• Manage and maintain cloud Infrastructure-as-Code, ensuring scalable and reliable deployments.
• Develop, automate, and optimize CI/CD pipelines to improve software delivery and operational efficiency.
• Monitor production systems, perform root cause analysis, and resolve technical issues promptly.
• Design and implement automation scripts to streamline operations and reduce manual intervention.
• Mentor and provide guidance to other software engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration and technical excellence.
• Develop troubleshooting procedures and best practices for system maintenance and reliability.
• Evaluate new technologies, prototypes, and proof-of-concepts, analyzing benefits and risks for integration.

• Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 5–6 years of experience in software engineering or platform/DevOps roles.
• Strong knowledge of Git, Docker/Kubernetes, Linux, and CI/CD pipeline development.
• Hands-on experience with cloud environments such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Working knowledge of databases and SQL.
• Strong problem-solving skills, adaptability, and the ability to learn new technologies quickly.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate across teams.
• Must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain Public Trust clearance.
• Preferred: experience in people management or familiarity with Harness.io.
