Computer Engineer I (Remote)

This role provides an exciting opportunity for a junior-level engineer to contribute to critical technology projects supporting naval systems and cybersecurity initiatives. You will work with a collaborative team to design, develop, test, and maintain software and hardware solutions for complex shipboard systems, ensuring high reliability and security. The position offers hands-on experience with emerging technologies and the chance to support major government programs. Ideal candidates are detail-oriented, eager to learn, and able to apply technical knowledge to real-world problems in a fast-paced environment. This fully remote role allows you to contribute from anywhere in the approved U.S. states while collaborating with engineers, SMEs, and technical leaders to deliver impactful solutions.

Accountabilities:

·        Provide technical and engineering support for naval shipboard systems, including propulsion, electrical plant, machinery control, steering control, navigation, and network systems.

·        Develop, test, maintain, and update software and hardware solutions to enhance cybersecurity and operational efficiency.

·        Assist in implementing modernization programs and supporting acquisition initiatives.

·        Collaborate with subject matter experts, technical leaders, and team members to deliver practical solutions for complex problems.

·        Document engineering processes, technical procedures, and software updates.

·        Support continuous improvement efforts for system performance and security compliance.

·        Bachelor’s degree in Computer, Electrical, or Electronics Engineering, or Mathematics with a concentration in Computer Science.

·        Minimum of 1 year of experience in software or hardware development, testing, or maintenance.

·        Possess at least one relevant certification such as CCNA-Security, CySA+, Security+ CE, GICSP, GSEC, CND, or SSCP.

·        U.S. Citizenship with an active government security clearance.

·        Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.

·        Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote environment.
