Backend Developer

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Backend Developer in the United States.

As a Backend Developer, you will play a key role in designing, building, and maintaining eCommerce features and integrations, contributing directly to a scalable and high-performing platform. You will collaborate with internal teams, external agencies, and third-party partners to optimize infrastructure, enhance site performance, and implement new capabilities. This position offers the opportunity to work hands-on with Salesforce Commerce Cloud, make architectural decisions, and mentor junior engineers. You will focus on delivering high-quality, efficient solutions while ensuring the platform remains stable, compliant, and future-ready. The role emphasizes problem-solving, innovation, and continuous improvement within a fast-paced, fully remote environment.


  • Accountabilities:
  • Develop, maintain, and optimize backend solutions for eCommerce websites using Salesforce Commerce Cloud.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, external agencies, and third-party vendors to deliver end-to-end platform enhancements.
  • Manage integration feeds, including products, inventory, price books, OMS, Google, and product reviews.
  • Monitor site performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement improvements to speed, uptime, and reliability.
  • Ensure compliance with platform requirements and maintain code repositories, site domains, and release pipelines.
  • Identify project risks, propose solutions, and implement optimizations across systems and workflows.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers, sharing knowledge and best practices.
  • Requirements:
  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience with Salesforce Commerce Cloud (SFCC).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Proficiency in SFCC Site Genesis or SFRA framework, including catalog, content assets, slots, search, ordering, and analytics.
  • Experience integrating third-party cartridges and developing custom cartridges.
  • Strong knowledge of caching, cache management, performance monitoring, and optimization strategies.
  • Solid skills in ISMLs, JS controllers, pipelines, OCAPI, and Business Manager configurations.
  • Comfortable with front-end technologies: JavaScript, HTML5, CSS, SASS, and jQuery.
  • Experience in the Retail/E-Commerce industry is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills; ability to work independently in a remote environment.
