Associate Vice President - Strategic Relations

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for an Associate Vice President - Strategic Relations in United States.

In this role, you will lead strategic account management for key freight railroad partners while driving the expansion of diversified service offerings across engineering, flagging, project management, and field operations. You will act as a senior liaison between executive leadership, internal teams, and client decision-makers to strengthen collaboration, improve customer experience, and unlock new revenue opportunities. This position blends business development, stakeholder engagement, and operational alignment in a dynamic, field-oriented environment. It is an ideal opportunity for a seasoned professional with deep industry knowledge and the ability to build trusted relationships that support long-term growth and service excellence.


Accountabilities
  • Develop and execute a strategic business plan to expand utilization of services within the freight railroad market.
  • Build, strengthen, and maintain relationships with key stakeholders at all organizational levels across assigned client accounts.
  • Maintain strong field visibility by meeting regularly with client representatives at job sites and offices.
  • Identify customer experience improvement opportunities and coordinate internal teams to enhance service, communication, and technology interactions.
  • Identify new revenue streams within assigned accounts and collaborate on tailored service solutions aligned with existing or future offerings.
  • Serve as a liaison to ensure seamless internal and external communication between client stakeholders and internal teams.
  • Support the development and launch of new service offerings such as flagging, permitting, utilities, and related programs, including project planning, communication, pilot initiatives, and issue resolution.
  • Coordinate targeted marketing campaigns and participate in presenting materials to client leadership teams.
  • Assist in resolving service-related concerns and ensure consistent, proactive reporting between all parties.
  • Attend industry events to strengthen relationships and cultivate new business opportunities.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as needed to meet business and client expectations.

Requirements
  • Established professional relationships with management-level peers at BNSF, particularly within Engineering and Procurement.
  • Deep familiarity with BNSF engineering operations, internal processes, and contracted services.
  • Strong ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining organizational excellence.
  • Proficiency with digital tools, communication platforms, and software used for presentations and promotional content.
  • Demonstrated discretion in handling sensitive and confidential information.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills with the ability to convey new concepts and solutions effectively.
  • At least 10 years of direct experience working with BNSF Engineering and Procurement teams, with an extensive industry network.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Ability to operate effectively in client environments, including job sites, offices, events, and occasional internal facilities.
  • Capability to complete all training and certifications required to access client operating property.
