Public Sector Customer Success Manager

GitLab is an open-core software company providing an AI-powered DevSecOps platform used by organizations worldwide. We are hiring a Public Sector Customer Success Manager to partner with U.S. public sector customers to drive adoption, ensure retention, enable desired business outcomes, and expand usage across their organizations while serving as the primary liaison between customers and internal teams.

Skills

  • Knowledge of Git and common branching strategies
  • Understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and development pipelines
  • Familiarity with CI/CD and DevSecOps practices
  • Proven Customer Success or account management experience driving adoption, retention, and growth
  • Strong verbal, written, presentation, and stakeholder communication skills
  • Project management and organizational skills
  • Analytical and technical problem-solving ability
  • Eligibility as a United States Person (U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee)

Responsibilities

  • Own a book of assigned public sector customers to increase adoption, satisfaction, retention, and growth
  • Translate pre-sales command plans into actionable objectives and measurable customer outcomes
  • Guide customers on GitLab platform best practices, common use cases, and future adoption paths
  • Act as the primary liaison for escalations and cross-functional collaboration with Support, Product, Engineering, Sales, and Professional Services
  • Monitor product releases and remain up-to-date on GitLab features and roadmap relevant to public sector customers
  • Develop and execute adoption and expansion strategies, including success plans and health monitoring

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred
  • Relevant technical certification or coursework is a plus
