The Exploratorium is seeking a Production Manager: Outsource Specialist to oversee exhibit production projects, ensuring quality and timelines are met while managing both in-house resources and outsourcing partners.
Responsibilities: Key responsibilities include managing major exhibit projects, developing budgets and timelines, supervising staff, and coordinating with outsource partners to ensure high-quality production.
Skills: Candidates must have leadership experience in a design/build setting, proficiency in project management tools, CAD software, and excellent communication skills.
Qualifications: Preferred qualifications include experience with production subcontractors in various disciplines, familiarity with engineering deliverables, and a strong ability to manage multiple projects effectively.
Location: This position is based in San Francisco, CA, with potential travel required within the US and internationally for installations.
Compensation: $93300 - $103350 / Annually
SUMMARY
The Exploratorium Exhibits group develops, designs, engineers, and produces interactive exhibits, architectural elements and visitor experiences that foster active engagement and learning - for our museum on the San Francisco Bay and our local community, as well as for partner organizations around the world. The Production Manager reports to the Manager, Production Group and is responsible for the day-to-day operation, administration, and supervision of exhibit and exhibition production on major projects. The Production Manager works with project leadership to integrate production with project management, design, and accounting.
