Assistant Director of Nursing

Crestwood is a longtime behavioral health provider focused on person-centered recovery and supportive communities. The Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) will support the Director of Nursing and nursing team to ensure clinical care quality, regulatory compliance, staff development, and operational nursing functions across the Fallbrook facility.

Skills

  • Active RN licensure in California
  • Clinical experience in behavioral health or psychiatric settings
  • Leadership and supervisory skills with team development experience
  • Knowledge of nursing regulations, accreditation, and compliance standards
  • Competence in assessment, care planning, and medication administration
  • Strong documentation and electronic medical record (EMR) skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, conflict resolution, and collaboration
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification

Responsibilities

  • Support the Director of Nursing in oversight of nursing services and standards of care
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing programs and clinical operations
  • Ensure compliance with licensure, accreditation, policies, and nursing practice
  • Supervise, coach, and develop nursing staff and psychiatric technicians
  • Oversee client care delivery on the clinical unit and maintain documentation standards
  • Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams and participate in care planning
  • Participate in hiring, scheduling, performance management, and workforce development
  • Lead or support quality improvement, incident reporting, and regulatory readiness
  • Maintain emergency response readiness and medication administration oversight

Education

  • Graduation from an accredited professional nursing or psychiatric technician program
  • Current RN licensure in the State of California
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related field preferred
  • CPR and First Aid certification required
