Solutions Engineer, SLED
Skills
- Strong understanding of internet technologies including OSI layers 1-7, TCP/UDP routing, DNS, HTTP(S), and SSL/TLS.
- Experience with on-premise infrastructure and networking, including legacy systems.
- Customer-facing sales or consulting experience, preferably technical.
- Technical curiosity and up-to-date knowledge of Cloudflare products and internet industry trends.
- Project management, relationship building, and emotional intelligence skills.
Responsibilities
- Lead technical discussions and implementations to support public sector sales and customer success.
- Qualify prospect and customer use cases, discover technical requirements, and lead product demonstrations.
- Design tailored solutions and manage proofs-of-concept with public sector customers.
- Advise existing customers on technical best practices, product implementations, and strategic guidance.
- Collaborate closely with Sales, Product, Engineering, and Customer Support teams.
- Travel approximately 30-40% for meetings, conferences, and events within the SLED territory.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field preferred but not required.
- Graduate-level degrees or certifications (Azure/AWS/GCP Architect) are a plus.
