Network Engineer
Skills
- Strong knowledge of LAN/WAN and wireless devices, primarily Cisco
- Experience with network protocols including Spanning tree, DNS, OSPF, HSRP, LACP, SNMP, NTP, IPsec VPN, QoS
- Firewall policy creation and management experience
- Proficient in using Microsoft Visio for network documentation
- Familiarity with ITIL change management framework
- Ability to assess risk prior to network changes
- Practical knowledge of major network platforms and security initiatives
Responsibilities
- Design, install, test, and maintain network infrastructure
- Identify, diagnose and resolve network issues promptly
- Document all implementations and changes accurately
- Maintain network records and inventories up to date
- Perform network upgrades minimizing downtime
- Develop and maintain network policies, procedures, and training plans
- Ensure network equipment remains secure and current
- Monitor and report on network performance statistics
- Collaborate closely with IT teams globally and coordinate with vendors
- Travel to other CRA offices as required
- Perform off-hours work during maintenance windows
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience
- Relevant certifications such as CCNA/CCNP highly desired
- AWS Cloud Practitioner and Azure Fundamentals certifications preferred
