Job Description

Brightspeed has an exciting opportunity for a Project Manager, Fiber Engineering & Construction to join our team! This position will be part of the Engineering & Construction Fiber BEC (Brightspeed Enhanced Communities) team.  As Project Manager, Fiber Engineering & Construction, you will be responsible for various program/project management & engineering assignments ranging from overseeing of Fiber Multidwelling & Home Owner’s Association builds, Vendor oversight, Engineering IQGeo research, Build Milestone & Scheduling management to permitting, process development, training & communication and compliance to process. The position will be a key part of the Engineering and Construction team that will collaboratively manage complex and long duration type projects. This role requires strong business acumen, strong data analytics, the abilities to define and implement groundbreaking ideas, to work within a fast-moving environment to rapidly deliver support and services that have a broad business impact, and desire to have an industry wide impact.

As Project Manager, Fiber Engineering & Construction your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading project management for Engineering and Construction organization and lead cross-functional teams with others
  • Overseeing development and monitoring of engineering and construction build plans across various network types 
  • Tracking milestone activities for highly complex projects/programs across multiple lines of business both internal and external
  • Ensuring compliance requirements are adhered to for all regulatory obligations
  • Ensuring projects meet network readiness dates within budget allotments
  • Researching, removing and managing network build roadblocks associated with permitting, contractual interpretation via internal Brightspeed resource, external vendor resources or government bodies
  • Maintaining contractual obligations and reoccurring invoices to vendor partners
  • Coordinating & creating work schedules to ensure on time delivery both internal workforce and contracted vendors
  • Driving actionable data analysis and facilitate action based on data working with IT, Business, and vendors
  • Analyzing, defining, and owning Centralized Engineering and Construction current and future state processes
  • Collaborating with network leadership and business domain leadership to design and implement future state processes that achieve program goals, and end-to-end process engineering objectives
  • Analyzing, capturing, and interrupting Geographic Information System (GIS) and related IQGeo data
  • Communicating training-based communications, flash documents, M&Ps and related job aids to numerous stakeholders and their teams
     

Qualifications

WHAT IT TAKES TO CATCH OUR EYE:

  • 5+ years Telecommunication experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical work experience
  • Project Manager Certification
  • Ability to facility project creation and management in standard PM tools (MS Project, SmartSheets, Confluence, JIRA)
  • Experience with Telcom Network Design systems (IQGeo, GIS, SmallWorld)
  • Usability & understanding of data visualization tools (PowerBI, Power Apps)
  • Vendor & Contract Administration
  • Usability & understanding of Financial systems (Ariba, SAP, Accounts Payable)
  • Ability to create complex Methods & Procedures
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Expert knowledge in Microsoft (More specifically Power Point & Excel), Adobe, and related systems
  • Ability to analyze data to drive strategic business decisions is key
  • Ability to build a cohesive relationship with multiple departments through training, development, and accountability

  • Master's degree and/or related work experience
  • Knowledgeable of SAP, Fireworks, BidMaster, LeaseNet, Costar, JDS, WFMT, NDS, CLM, APO, FT3, ARMOR, MARTENS
  • Experience with Regulatory subsidy compliance
