Supports and manages the end-to-end process of creating tailored responses to requests for proposals (RFPs), ensuring alignment with business goals and client needs to secure new business for BMO Financial Group.

  • Leads the end-to-end process of proposal development, ensuring alignment with business objectives, client needs, and regulatory requirements.
  • Reviews and approves complex proposals, ensuring that proposals are clear, persuasive, and aligned with both the bank’s strategic goals and client requirements.
  • Leads post-submission debriefs and analyzes feedback from clients to identify areas for improvement in future responses and refine proposal strategies.
  • Coordinates with senior leadership to establish strategic priorities for proposal responses, ensuring all efforts are aligned with the bank’s broader goals and client expectations.
  • Leads external partners (e.g., graphic designers, content writers, legal consultants) to ensure effective collaboration and timely input, overseeing the final production and delivery of proposal submissions.
  • Evaluates RFP performance, identifying trends, proposing improvements, and ensuring proposals consistently contribute to business growth and client retention.
  • Coaches and provides guidance on proposal writing, content development, and process improvements.
  • Establishes RFP process documentation, ensuring compliance with internal policies and industry best practices.
  • Manages resources and priorities to meet deadlines and quality standards for multiple high-priority proposals.
  • Influences key stakeholders and leads negotiations to drive the achievement of business objectives.
  • Creates high-quality, tailored proposals that align with client needs and business objectives.
  • Participates in or leads post-submission debriefs to evaluate proposal effectiveness, gather feedback, and identify areas for improvement to refine future RFP responses.
  • Works with internal stakeholders, subject matter experts, and external partners.
  • Identifies opportunities for enhancing the efficiency of the proposal process.
  • Focus is primarily on business/group within BMO; may have broader, enterprise-wide focus.
  • Provides specialized consulting, analytical and technical support.
  • Exercises judgment to identify, diagnose, and solve problems within given rules.
  • Works independently and regularly handles non-routine situations.
  • Broader work or accountabilities may be assigned as needed.

    Qualifications:

  • 6-10 years of relevant experience in Proposal Management, Process Improvements, Business Writing, or Market Analysis in a corporate or banking environment is preferred. Knowledge of Association of Proposal Management Professionals (APMP) is desired.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; Business Administration, Marketing and Communications preferred. Any other related discipline or commensurate work experience considered.
  • Deep knowledge and technical proficiency gained through extensive education and business experience.

Salary:

$81,400.00 - $151,800.00

The above represents BMO Financial Group’s pay range and type.

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.

BMO Financial Group’s total compensation package will vary based on the pay type of the position and may include performance-based incentives, discretionary bonuses, as well as other perks and rewards.
