Solutions Engineer

Our sales team is focused on finding efficient paths to successful, profitable, long-term customers by building a user-driven marketing and sales engine. As a Solutions Engineer, you will play a critical role in helping prospects understand the value of Asana. Through insightful discovery and by aligning with customer outcomes, you will guide customers through ROI-based conversations. Using your demo skills, you will connect identified pain points with the value Asana brings. You'll also contribute internally by improving communication with cross-functional teams regarding your projects. Leveraging deep product knowledge and expertise in how companies decide to purchase SaaS applications, you will support the Sales team in consistently moving toward successful deals. 

This role is based in our San Francisco office with an office-centric hybrid schedule. The standard in-office days are Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. Most Asanas have the option to work from home on Wednesdays. Working from home on Fridays depends on the type of work you do and the teams with which you partner. What You’ll Achieve:

  1. Partner with Sales, Customer Success, Professional Services, and potentially channel partners to gather necessary inputs and create solutions addressing customer issues.
  2. Act as a trusted advisor through comprehensive discovery, ensuring you fully understand customer needs and desired outcomes.
  3. Design tailored product demonstrations and presentations for individual customers.
  4. Develop scalable workflow solutions within Asana that can benefit a wide range of customers.
  5. Support the Solutions Engineering team by developing metrics and operational strategies to assess global impact.
  6. Collaborate with Product, PMM, Sales, and Enablement teams for smooth program execution from start to finish.

About You:

  1. 3+ years of experience in Solutions Engineering.
  2. Possess strong interpersonal abilities to build trust and deeply understand customer issues.
  3. Skilled in quantitatively analyzing and deriving solutions tailored to customer needs.
  4. Capable of weaving technology narratives and presenting them across diverse settings.
  5. Experience in a presales or similar role within a SaaS environment.
  6. Proven track record of navigating ambiguous situations in high-growth contexts.
  7. Ability to work collaboratively with marketing, business, and product teams to facilitate seamless lead-to-customer transitions.
  8. Exceptional leadership and collaboration skills to coordinate seamlessly with Sales, Customer Success, and Marketing.

What we’ll offer:

Our comprehensive compensation package plays a big part in how we recognize you for the impact you have on our path to achieving our mission. We believe that compensation should be reflective of the value you create relative to the market value of your role. To ensure pay is fair and not impacted by biases, we're committed to looking at market value which is why we check ourselves and conduct a yearly pay equity audit.

For this role, the estimated cash compensation (OTE) is between $185,000 - $210,000, inclusive of base salary and variable target. The actual base salary will vary based on various factors, including location, market and individual qualifications objectively assessed during the interview process. The listed range above is a guideline, and the base salary range for this role may be modified.
