Responsibilities
- Conduct supplier selection and manage relationships using the approved supplier list
- Develop should-cost / clean-sheet models and lead cost engineering to converge to product cost
- Collaborate with suppliers on concept scoping, trade-off analyses, and joint design development
- Create and consolidate manufacturing BOMs with Quality & Manufacturing for ramp to production
- Manage CAPEX throughout NPI and perform BOM risk assessments with alternate sourcing plans
- Ensure component qualifications are complete ahead of production
- Perform value-stream mapping to optimize lead time and supply flexibility
- Reduce complexity via commonality optimization and supplier/component rationalization
- Handle ad-hoc cost issues such as tariffs, import/export costs, and inflation
Education
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or other technical field (required)
- Master's or advanced technical degree (preferred)
