Airbus Commercial is looking for an Early Careers Program Specialist to join our Early careers team in Mobile, Al.
The Early Careers Program Specialist supports the tactical deployment of workforce development solutions at a multi-program aerospace manufacturing facility. This position has both an external and internal facing orientation, responsible for supporting existing programs as well as developing new collaboration opportunities across the communities in which we operate

The Early Careers department is within the Site Technical Learning Department and collaborates heavily with the regional workforce development and communications teams.

Nearby on ‘Airbus Way’ you will find the Airbus U.S. Manufacturing Facility for commercial aircraft. Opened at the Mobile Aeroplex at Brookley in 2015, the facility produces A320 Family aircraft and added a second product line for the A220 in 2019. The facility, which strengthens the U.S. aerospace industry, is part of Airbus’ strategy to enhance its global competitiveness by meeting the growing needs of its customers in the United States and beyond.

Your Challenges:
Primary Responsibilities:
Community and School Partnerships: 40%
Coordinates Airbus's partnerships with target high schools and technical colleges in the Mobile, AL area by scheduling meetings and events and managing communication
Manages onsite tours and events for school partners, business interest groups, and VIP visitors
Deploys and distributes pre-approved content for use in local schools to support technical role pipelines
Identifies and researches local youth programs and non-profits for potential engagement opportunities
Serves as a key point of contact for the Airbus STEAM Squad; assists in organizing and supporting their community engagement events
Maintains and organizes the local ambassador network for external engagement opportunities
Gathers data to support business cases for sponsorships and assists in the deployment of sponsorships
Tracks and reports on community engagement initiatives and participates in relevant working groups to support the overall strategy
Early Careers and Technical Learning Program Support: 40%
Tracks funding for the site apprenticeship programs and seeks new grant funding opportunities
Collaborates with the business and external school partners on internal workforce development solutions
Acts as a site focal point for for the Airbus Global Graduate program, supporting HR, Managers, and Talent Acquisition
Coordinates site-level internship programming in collaboration with the business, HR, and Talent Acquisition
Supports the apprenticeship programs by assisting with program management and tactical support as needed
Tracks data in a compliant and effective manner, using data analysis to bolster business cases for each program
Program Marketing: 15%
Develops marketing and communications material for the early careers programs, using data and storytelling to demonstrate impact in collaboration with the site and regional communications teams
Coordinates key events for the programs, including recognition moments, graduations, and other events
Other Duties as Assigned: 5%
May support direct apprenticeship management in times of peak capacity

Your Boarding Pass:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources Management, Social sciences or similar discipline required
3+ years of demonstrated practical experience in the field of Human Resources, Workforce Development, Community Relations, or Marketing
Experience working with IT systems and data analysis
Experience working with both internal and external stakeholders is required
Advanced level skills in Office and Google Workspace
Ability to work flexible hours based on program needs
Ability to set and meet deadlines and to handle multiple projects concurrently
Experience with publishing software to create marketing materials, preferred
Travel Required:
20% - primarily local

Vision: able to see and read computer screen and other electronic equipment with screens, able to read documents, reports on a daily basis.

Equipment Operation (personal computer, telephone, copies, fax machine, and related office equipment and using electronic identification card to enter building floors and internal doors): able to operate most office and personal electronic equipment daily.
Carrying: able to carry documents, electronic equipment, paper bundles, etc. up to 15lbs on a daily basis.
Lifting: able to lift documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs on a daily basis.
Pushing / Pulling: able to push and pull small office furniture and some equipment and tools on a daily basis.
Sitting: able to sit for long periods of time in meetings, working on computer.
Squatting / Kneeling: able to squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items stored on low shelving.
Standing: able to stand for discussions in offices or on production floor
Travel: able to travel independently and at short notice, must have a driver’s license
Walking (include routine walking such as to a shared printer to retrieve documents): able to walk through office and production areas including uneven surfaces.
