Senior Manager, Commercial Strategy

Affirm is reinventing credit with transparent, consumer-friendly BNPL products. The Senior Manager, Commercial Strategy will lead creation of high-impact proposals, pitch decks, and merchant-facing content to drive GTM efforts and win merchant partnerships. This role requires a blend of merchant-facing experience, strong storytelling and proposal leadership across cross-functional stakeholders.

Skills

  • 10+ years in merchant-facing revenue roles, content strategy, or proposal management
  • Proven track record leading and writing successful RFPs, RFIs, and detailed sales proposals
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to translate complex financial and technical concepts into clear, persuasive B2B messaging
  • Strong project management and organizational skills for simultaneous RFPs
  • Experience with payments or fintech and building content for merchants is highly preferred
  • Familiarity with RFP software or content management systems a plus

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end development of persuasive RFP and RFI responses, coordinating cross-functional inputs to craft clear, differentiated narratives
  • Design compelling sales and customer success materials (pitch decks, one-pagers, case studies) that translate complex financial products into merchant-focused stories
  • Maintain and improve merchant-facing content quality, consistency, and performance through analysis and iteration
  • Act as a merchant advocate, ensuring all content addresses merchant pain points and business goals
  • Collaborate closely with Product, PMM, Sales, and Marketing to align messaging with product launches and GTM priorities
  • Manage multiple concurrent proposal processes, timelines, and stakeholders with strong project management discipline
  • Leverage performance data and industry trends to continuously refine content and win strategies

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, English, or related field
  • Advanced degree (MBA, MS) or equivalent experience preferred but not required
