Zayo is seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Product Manager to support the strategy, roadmap, and operational execution of our Metro Dark Fiber portfolio. This role works closely with the Head of Product to drive growth, optimize financial performance, and ensure delivery against customer and business objectives. The ideal candidate combines strong business acumen, comfort with data, and the ability to collaborate effectively across finance, engineering, operations, and sales.
Our Product Manager, Metro Dark Fiber is a high-impact role within one of Zayo’s largest business lines, providing visibility into executive decision-making and the opportunity to influence how Zayo invests in and grows its network.
Responsibilities:
Product Strategy & Roadmap Execution
Support the Head of Product in developing and executing the multi-year roadmap for Zayo’s Metro Dark Fiber portfolio.
Translate strategy into actionable deliverables, tracking progress and ensuring alignment across engineering, operations, and GTM teams.
Conduct competitive and market analysis to inform positioning, pricing strategy, and go-to-market decisions.
Financial & KPI Ownership
Build and maintain financial models to assess ROI, margin impacts, pricing strategies, and portfolio optimization.
Partner with finance and leadership to deliver accurate forecasting, P&L reporting, and variance analysis.
Track and analyze product performance metrics—including revenue, bookings, churn, and operational efficiency—and provide recommendations to leadership.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with engineering and operations to improve delivery timelines, cost structures, and scalability across the Metro Dark Fiber network.
Partner with sales enablement to package offerings and create tools that improve market adoption and competitive positioning.
Contribute to monthly and quarterly executive reporting, synthesizing product KPIs and business insights.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, or related field, required; MBA or advanced degree a plus.
Minimum of three (3) years of experience in product management, business operations, or finance; experience in telecom, networking, or infrastructure strongly preferred.
Strong financial acumen with the ability to build and analyze complex models for pricing, ROI, and investment scenarios.
Comfort managing both operational detail and strategic priorities in a capital-intensive, cross-functional environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience preparing executive-level reporting.
Estimated Base Salary Range: $89,800 - $138,200 USD/annually.
The base pay range shown is a guideline and reasonable estimate for this role. It takes into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions. Actual compensation offered may vary from the posted range based upon geographic location, work experience, skill level, certifications, and other business and organizational needs. Non- sales roles may be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive plan. Sales roles may be eligible to participate in a sales incentive plan.
Additionally, this position may be eligible for certain benefits, such as health insurance, life insurance, disability retirement plans, paid time off.
