At Walmart, we help people save money so they can live better. This mission drives every decision we make. As Director of Modular & Space Execution, you’ll lead the teams responsible for translating assortment strategy into high-quality, timely execution across new stores, remodels, relays, and in-season updates. Your role is at the heart of how we localize at scale—by aligning insights, people, and tools to ensure the right product lands in the right space at the right time.
What you'll do:
Lead Modular Execution and Activation:
Oversee modular reset and execution workflows, including end-to-end planning, draw management, ticketing, and store execution across formats and programs.
Operationalize Localization:
Partner with Assortment Analytics and Space Insights to translate trait-based plans into executable floorplans and modulars that reflect customer needs by store.
Manage Complex Reset Calendars:
Build and maintain sequencing for relays, remodels, and new store activations—ensuring clear timing, ownership, and accountability across partner teams.
Optimize Workload Planning:
Design and oversee workload balancing models to enable reset teams to execute with quality and efficiency. Own prioritization of modular and space work by business need.
Bridge Strategy & Execution:
Ensure cross-functional plans—spanning merchandising, store operations, construction, and planning—land with clarity and accuracy in physical store execution.
Drive Process Excellence:
Standardize execution playbooks, improve system workflows, and identify tools and tech opportunities to scale execution quality and reduce manual lift.
You’ll make an impact by:
Delivering localized execution that improves shelf accuracy, speed to change, and customer relevance
Reducing execution defects and Ops ticket volume by aligning planning upstream
Scaling modular strategy through stronger coordination, calendar discipline, and team accountability
Strengthening the bridge between insights and execution to enable test-and-learn agility and faster rollouts
Who you are:
A systems thinker with proven ability to manage cross-functional execution at scale
Comfortable leading change across matrixed teams and partnering deeply with Merch, Ops, and RE
Skilled in turning strategy into action—and refining as you go
Passionate about enabling store teams to deliver excellent shelf execution
Culture & Team Environment
You’ll join a team that thrives on building structure where ambiguity exists. We believe in pushing for clarity, working collaboratively, and delivering real-world impact—not just strategy on slides. You’ll be surrounded by individuals who know the modular world, understand its complexity, and are motivated by making it better—for stores, merchants, and customers alike.
We value:
Ownership and accountability in fast-moving environments
Curiosity and continuous improvement—we test, learn, and adapt
Humility and partnership—we lead through influence and shared goals
Growth mindset—we develop ourselves while building scalable systems
