Staff Infrastructure Engineer - Data Platform
Skills
- Extensive production experience designing and operating distributed, real-time systems
- Deep hands-on knowledge of Kubernetes, Kafka/Kinesis, and Terraform
- Systems programming experience in Golang and C++
- Cloud-agnostic infrastructure strategy across GCP and AWS
- Experience building testing frameworks and integrating them into CI/CD pipelines
- Strong networking fundamentals and performance tuning experience
Responsibilities
- Design and implement real-time data pipelines (Kafka/Kinesis or similar) to support data engineering and ML use cases
- Enable streaming from core app Postgres databases and execute migration off Datastream toward queuing-based architecture
- Define and drive cloud migration plan from GCP to AWS using cloud-agnostic approaches
- Build load-testing frameworks to validate autoscaling and stress test pricing systems
- Integrate testing and validation frameworks into CI/CD pipelines to ensure release robustness
- Collaborate with Pricing Engineering and Data Engineering to create a 6–12 month technical roadmap
- Modularize Terraform and other infrastructure-as-code to support multi-team consumption and consistency
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience
- Advanced degree (MS/PhD) preferred but not required
