Our Strategic Reach & Workforce Partnerships team is a trusted talent and economic development partner to states and employers. We aim to enable all College Board products, and especially AP Career Kickstart courses, to thrive and both students and states see a broader set of future options for all students.We advance College Board’s mission by expanding access to AP Career Kickstart courses, which align with high-value, industry recognized credentials. These partnerships strengthen state and regional economies while unlocking new opportunities for students to own their future.  

About the Opportunity 

At this pivotal moment in education, College Board is deepening its commitment to prepare students for success – both in college and in high-growth careers. As states accelerate access to career-connected learning, AP Career Kickstart is helping to reimagine what’s possible for students—by bridging rigorous academics with real-world career skills and opportunity via courses on AP Cybersecurity, AP Networking, and AP Business w/Personal Finance.As these courses go live in 2026 and we seek employer support, this role is critical. 

As our Director, Employer Partner Success, you’ll be the engine deepeningouremployer engagement efforts. You’llhave a portfolio of enterprise employers who want to deepen their support of AP Career Kickstart in a mutually beneficial way. You will be working with these partners to co-create assets for student learning, providing thought leadership platforms for employers, and both seek and share employer advice with course content team. Your work will enable hundreds of thousands of students to earn industry-recognized credentials while in high school and create a stronger, more inclusive talent pipeline nationwide.

This role demands an organized, strong communicator and collaborator—someone who can navigate complexity, align stakeholders, and drive impact across teams along with deep external partnership skills. 

In this role, you will:

Strengthen Retention & Visibility – 35%

  • Cultivate and strengthen relationships with a portfolio of Enterprise Employer Partners to ensure a richer student/teacher experience and overall retention.
  • Recognize and elevate Employer Partner contributions through visibility opportunities (logos, newsletters, events).
  • Conduct regular check-ins to assess satisfaction, gather feedback, and demonstrate impact.

Multi-Touch Partner Engagement – 25%

  • Guide Employer Partners to expand involvement across multiple pathways (e.g., councils, events, hackathons, hosting student site visits).
  • Facilitate opportunities for deeper Employer Partner engagement that demonstrate commitment to student learning.
  • Collect and share partner/student success stories to illustrate the value of multi-touch collaboration.

Co-Create Student and Teacher Materials – 20%

  • Engage Employer Partners in developing classroom and student-facing resources (case studies, “day in the life” videos, project-based experiences).
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure materials align with AP Career Kickstart goals and are widely adopted by educators.
  • Monitor student engagement and feedback to improve the effectiveness of these resources.

Insights & Internal Collaboration – 20%

  • Capture and synthesize Employer Partners feedback and industry trends to inform overall College Board strategy.
  • Deliver monthly insights reports and facilitate feedback sessions with Product and AP&I teams.
  • Host info sessions to connect employer needs to AP Career Kickstart coursework, highlighting links between skills and job descriptions/hiring practices.
  • Document and share insights to influence program design and strengthen internal alignment.

About You

You have:

  • Ability to cultivate and retain strategic partnerships with large employers or industry groups.
  • Strong background in content co-creation, ideally working with external partners to develop resources or initiatives for students or early-career talent.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and storytelling skills, with experience translating complex employer needs into actionable program improvements.
  • A track record of cross-functional collaboration, particularly with product, instructional, or academic teams.
  • Experience using feedback to generate insights, produce reports, and inform organizational strategy.
  • Comfort hosting and facilitating events (virtual and in-person) such as employer councils, advisory committees, student visits, moderated panels at conferences, or info sessions.
  • Ability to connect employer skills needs to real-world job descriptions and hiring practices, helping College Board show the bridge between coursework and employability.

Exceptional candidates can effectively speak to: 

  • 5-8 years of experience in employer partnerships, sales, or corporate engagement.
  • Experiencewith Salesforce, MSFT Office Suite, research, writing, doing presentations.
  • Bachelor’s degree required;advanced degree in education, workforce development, business, or related field a plus.
  • The ability to travel 15-20 times a year for partner engagement or College Board meetings.

About Our Process
