Job Description Summary:

The Global Equipment Platforms (GEP) team is seeking a visionary and results-driven Global Product Owner to serve as the primary product leader for The Coca-Cola Company's (TCCC) Unified IoT & Connected Equipment Platform. This strategic role is pivotal in transforming our global fleet of 17MM+ diverse equipment (including beverage vending machines, dispensers, coolers, and retail racks) into intelligent, insight-generating assets. You will be instrumental in enabling a future where real-time market understanding eliminates the "fog of war," driving significant reductions in operating expenses and marked increases in revenue.

This platform encompasses a holistic ecosystem of connected services, including advanced Device Management, bespoke Content Management, robust Order-to-Cash integrations, and a sophisticated IoT infrastructure designed for global scale. Leveraging the proprietary KO Operating System (KOS) as the foundational software, this role demands an innovative thinker with exceptional communication and delivery skills, capable of challenging the status quo, optimizing existing processes, and pioneering novel capabilities using current and emerging technologies.

The Global Product Owner will partner closely with Digital Technology Solutions (IT), Global Customer Commercial teams, Equipment Procurement, and external OEM and Bottler partners. Your mandate is to establish and champion the vision, strategy, and roadmap for our connected equipment ecosystem, ensuring alignment with overall enterprise objectives and maximizing value for TCCC and its global bottling partners.

Key Responsibilities:

Unified IoT Platform Vision & Strategy (25%):

  • Define, own, and champion the comprehensive product vision and strategic roadmap for the TCCC Unified IoT & Connected Equipment Platform, spanning all equipment types (dispense, vend, cooler, racks, etc.) and global markets.

  • Ensure the platform architecture and capabilities are generic enough to support varied global market needs (premium to ultra-low cost) and enable seamless operation by diverse technology firms, minimizing vendor lock-in.

  • Integrate KOS (KO Operating System) as the core embedded OS foundation, ensuring its capabilities are leveraged and expanded within the unified IoT solution to accelerate OEM digital transformation.

  • Drive the strategic evolution of the platform to embrace future connected device technologies (e.g., LoRaWAN, 5G, satellite IoT) and advancements in AI/ML capabilities, including AI Agents, computer vision, and predictive analytics.

Product Ownership & Delivery (30%):

  • Translate the IoT platform strategy into detailed product requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria for global engineering and development teams.

  • Own and prioritize the unified IoT platform backlog, ensuring alignment with GEP strategic imperatives, business value, and technical feasibility.

  • Lead product discovery efforts, defining minimum viable products (MVPs) and iterative releases to deliver continuous value.

  • Oversee the design and implementation of core IoT infrastructure components, including device onboarding, secure data ingestion, message brokering, data schema, and device management solutions (e.g., remote diagnostics, OTA updates for firmware, software, and content).

  • Collaborate with data engineering teams to define data models, schema, and ensure data quality for downstream analytics and AI applications.

  • Define detailed requirements for the IoT platform's capabilities, ensuring robust data ingestion and management that supports the needs of the Head of Data and Lead Data Engineer, and preparing the platform for scalable deployment of AI/ML models by the Lead AI Engineer.

  • Work in tandem with the Data Scientist to explore new data-driven features and capabilities, ensuring the platform evolves to support the generation of real-time market insights.

Ecosystem & Stakeholder Management (25%):

  • Cultivate deep, collaborative partnerships with Enterprise Digital Technology Solutions (IT), Global Customer Commercial, Equipment Procurement, GEP Hardware, Digital, and Platform teams.

  • Enable multi-tenant capabilities for Coca-Cola Bottlers to manage their respective device fleets, ensuring data segregation, access control, and tailored insights.

  • Engage with external technology partners, solution providers, and industry experts to ensure the platform remains at the forefront of IoT innovation, while maintaining vendor replaceability.

Performance Measurement & Optimization (10%):

  • Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for the unified IoT platform, measuring impact on equipment uptime, operational efficiency, TCO reduction, revenue uplift, data insights generated, and OEM/Bottler adoption rates.

  • Champion a data-driven approach, utilizing qualitative and quantitative inputs (telemetry data, user feedback, market analysis) to identify opportunities for platform enhancement and new feature development.

  • Continuously monitor the competitive landscape and technological advancements to identify disruptive trends and adapt the platform roadmap accordingly.

Global Scaling & Support (10%):

  • Define requirements and technical approaches for a globally scalable IoT infrastructure capable of supporting 17MM+ simultaneously connected devices.

  • Ensure the platform's design supports a variety of hardware compute solutions (e.g., Raspberry Pi) and connectivity solutions (cellular, Wi-Fi, etc...).

  • Provide Subject Matter Expertise (SME) into integration with existing and new support systems (e.g., CRM, ERP, customer care systems) across the enterprise.

Key Deliverables:

  • Comprehensive 1-3 year roadmap for the TCCC Unified IoT & Connected Equipment Platform.

  • Prioritized product backlog with clearly defined user stories and acceptance criteria.

  • Successful launch and adoption of new IoT platform features, capabilities, and integrations.

  • Quantifiable improvements in equipment TCO, uptime, and transactional performance via digital solutions.

  • Increased rate of OEM adoption of KOS and the TCCC Unified IoT Platform.

  • Enhanced capabilities for real-time market insights derived from connected equipment data.

  • Robust multi-tenant capabilities enabling bottlers and OEMs to manage their respective device fleets.

Decision Rights:

  • Ownership of the Unified IoT Platform product roadmap and backlog prioritization.

  • Defining user stories, functional requirements, and acceptance criteria for platform features.

  • Key arbiter of architectural and technology decisions related to the IoT platform (in collaboration with architecture and engineering leads).

Required Experience & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field. MBA or advanced degree preferred.

  • 12+ years’ experience in product management or product ownership for large-scale IoT platforms, connected devices, or cloud-based enterprise solutions.

  • Proven track record of defining and delivering global technology roadmaps and complex integration strategies.

  • Deep understanding of IoT ecosystems, including device management, data ingestion, cloud infrastructure (Azure preferred), connectivity, and security.

  • Experience with data engineering principles, data schema design, and leveraging data for advanced analytics and AI/ML applications.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional projects across multiple business units and geographic regions.

  • Experience working with hardware and embedded systems teams, ideally with knowledge of proprietary operating systems (similar to KOS).

  • Strong experience in Agile development methodologies.

  • Estimated Travel: 0-20% (Domestic & International)
