- Thorough knowledge of zoning and sign ordinances and form-based code
- Plans examination and site plan review experience
- Strong written and verbal communication skills

- Time management and ability to manage multiple complex projects
- Basic physical ability to handle plan sets/rolls and light lifting
Responsibilities
- Review large, complex, and high-profile development, site, and sign plans for compliance with Zoning and Form-Based Codes
- Interpret and apply Form-Based Code, Zoning, and Sign Ordinances within departmental guidelines
- Provide guidance and advisement to contractors, engineers, architects, and the public on zoning and sign requirements
- Coordinate with applicants to identify compliant design options and resolve issues
- Enter and maintain plans examination and application data in the department computer system
- Assist and oversee subordinate staff in the supervisor's absence and support continuous process improvements
- Communicate required corrections and project status clearly to owners and contacts
- Create processes and timelines to ensure timely completion of assigned tasks
Education
- Associate's degree (minimum) in related field or equivalent work experience
- Candidates without the formal degree may be considered with additional relevant experience
