Skills
- Proficiency in Python and/or R for analysis and modeling
- Strong SQL skills for querying and data preparation
- Experience with data visualization and BI tools (e.g., Power BI)
- Applied knowledge of statistical methods, ML techniques, and causal inference
- Experience building/maintaining data pipelines and ETL processes
- Familiarity with modern data stack components (Airflow, dbt, Snowflake, Azure Data Lake) and Git
- Ability to translate technical results into clear recommendations for non-technical stakeholders
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement data analysis strategies using advanced statistics, machine learning, and predictive models to solve complex municipal problems.
- Create, present, and communicate clear data visualizations and dashboards for stakeholders.
- Coordinate and analyze cross-departmental data to identify operational improvements and performance opportunities.
- Design, produce, and automate standard and custom reports for operational planning and strategic decision-making.
- Gather and refine requirements with end users; produce business requirement documents and follow-up to ensure alignment.
- Perform exploratory data analysis, hypothesis testing, and advanced data mining to surface trends and actionable recommendations.
- Build and maintain data pipelines to ensure efficient, reliable data flow and reproducible analyses.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Finance, Economics, Public Administration, Business, IT, or related field from accredited institution
