Skills
- Strong customer service and public contact skills
- High-volume data entry and report transcription accuracy
- Familiarity with records and dispatch systems (RMS/CAD/records enterprise)
- Proficiency with MS Word, Excel and Outlook
- Ability to supervise and train staff
- Ability to work 2nd shift, weekends and holidays
- Maintain CJIS eligibility and pass background/polygraph checks
Responsibilities
- Supervise, direct and coordinate the work of subordinate Data Reporting staff
- Train probationary Data Reporting Technicians per standardized training program
- Maintain and update complex computer records systems; process forms and reports
- Prepare, transcribe and review police offense reports and general correspondence
- Respond to public and internal customer inquiries; resolve issues and explain policies
- Maintain detailed and accurate files and records of police reports and correspondence
- Work required 2nd-shift schedule, weekends, holidays and in inclement weather as needed
- Ensure compliance with CJIS requirements and department security policies
Education
- High School diploma or GED required
- Specialized training in customer relations or related field recommended
- Candidates lacking formal education may be considered with additional relevant experience
