Job Description – Data Engineer (AWS & Python Focus)
Location: Virginia(Onsite, Full-time – In-person Interview)
Key Responsibilities:
AWS Expertise:
Design, implement, and optimize data solutions leveraging AWS services (EC2, S3, VPC, VPN, API Gateway, ECS, Lambda, Aurora, RDS, Route 53, ElasticSearch, Redis, Elasticache).
Apply AWS Well-Architected Framework principles to ensure operational excellence, reliability, performance efficiency, cost optimization, and security.
Review and validate architecture implementations to maintain compliance with AWS best practices.
Data Engineering & Architecture:
Develop scalable data pipelines and ETL workflows using Python and AWS-native tools (Glue, Lambda, Step Functions).
Build and maintain Big Data solutions across cloud and hybrid environments.
Create and deliver proofs-of-concept for business needs using appropriate data sources and AWS technologies.
Cloud Migration & Monitoring:
Lead and support workload migrations from on-premise to AWS cloud environments.
Implement monitoring frameworks using AWS CloudWatch, CloudTrail, and open-source tools to ensure system reliability and observability.
Collaboration & Delivery:
Work in Agile/Scrum or Kanban teams to deliver high-quality data solutions.
Partner with product managers, architects, and cross-functional stakeholders to align solutions with business requirements.
Provide technical leadership in designing, developing, and maintaining cloud-native data engineering solutions.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Certification: AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate (preferred) or equivalent AWS certifications.
Experience: 4–6+ years working with AWS cloud technologies and data engineering.
Programming: Strong proficiency in Python for automation, data processing, and building scalable ETL pipelines.
Cloud Data & Big Data Tools: Hands-on experience with AWS Glue, Athena, Redshift, Spark, or similar.
Cloud Native Services: Proficiency in EC2, S3, VPC, ECS, Lambda, RDS, Aurora, ElasticSearch, and related AWS services.
Monitoring: Experience with CloudWatch, CloudTrail, and/or open-source observability tools.
Methodologies: Familiarity with Agile/SAFe methodologies and Kanban delivery models.
Soft Skills: Strong stakeholder management, problem-solving ability, and ability to influence and drive results across teams.
