Local Sales Manager - job 1 of 2

TEGNA is a national media company operating local television stations and digital properties, reaching tens of millions monthly. The Local Sales Manager will lead and develop a sales team in the Atlanta market to grow TV and digital revenue, coach account executives, create sales strategy, and manage key client relationships.

Skills

  • Extensive broadcast TV sales experience including linear and digital/OTT solutions
  • Proven leadership and team development capabilities
  • Proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint and CRM/sales tools (Salesforce, WideOrbit)
  • Familiarity with Comscore, Matrix, Media Monitors and analytics-driven selling
  • Strong presentation and communication skills for internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities under deadline pressure
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to operate news gathering vehicle locally

Responsibilities

  • Recruit, retain and train top sales and support talent to sell TV and TEGNA’s digital products
  • Lead and develop Account Executives and Account Managers, including dotted-line reports
  • Provide ride-along coaching, join client meetings, and support proposal development
  • Identify market opportunities through lead generation and account qualification
  • Develop and execute sales strategies to meet or exceed station revenue goals
  • Analyze accounts to design marketing executions and prepare activity reports/forecasts
  • Manage key client relationships and ensure high-quality account service
  • Monitor and adjust performance metrics to track sales and market share

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, communications or related field preferred
  • Equivalent work experience in broadcast sales acceptable in lieu of degree
  • Ongoing professional development in sales leadership or media buying advantageous
