Skills
- 1-3 years relevant experience in military, disaster response, emergency management, or first responder roles
- Demonstrated personnel management experience including recruiting, training, and developing volunteers or staff
- Proficiency with remote communication and coordination tools
- Experience or comfort operating in an Emergency Operations Center (EOC) environment
- Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills
- Ability to work evenings and weekends and travel as required
Responsibilities
- Execute branch strategy to enhance rapid, local disaster response capabilities
- Develop and maintain relationships with state, county, and city disaster assistance organizations and VOAD partners
- Support the leadership lifecycle: recruit, onboard, train, and develop Greyshirt volunteer leaders
- Manage purchasing, expenses, and event approvals according to branch budget plans
- Provide Emergency Operations Center (EOC) support and assume designated EOC roles during activations
- Coordinate response activities between field operations, EOC, and external stakeholders
- Facilitate communication and information flow across cross-functional teams and volunteers
- Travel locally to support events and operations; participate in at least 25% non-local travel as required
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Bachelor’s degree in emergency management, public administration, or related field preferred
- Relevant certifications (ICS/NIMS) preferred
