ROLE TITLE: Manager, Early Talent Admissions (Temporary –May 2026, Potential for Extension)

POSITION REPORTS TO: Managing Director, Early Talent Admissions

APPLICATION DEADLINE: Sunday, August 17th, at 11:59pm ET

LOCATION: Flexible

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Teach For America is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive operational leader to support the execution of pre-corps admissions logistics and systems. In this role, you’ll help ensure that the systems for applicants moving through the selection process for partner programs that hire undergraduate talent (e.g., Teach For America’s Ignite Fellowship, TFA Impact, Breakthrough Collaborative, Jumpstart, etc.) are efficient, fair, and clearly communicated.

You’ll focus on keeping operational plans on track, managing applicant communications, supporting key decision-making logistics, and partnering across teams to troubleshoot issues as they arise. You’ll also help document process improvements and support pilots that aim to evolve our admissions systems over time.

The ideal candidate thrives in managing logistics, takes initiative to identify and solve problems, and brings strong communication and collaboration skills. You are someone who can keep a lot moving at once, while ensuring the integrity of our systems, clarity for our stakeholders, and care for our applicants.

ROLE DURATION: This position is expected to run through May 31, 2026. While there is potential for continuation beyond that date, it is not guaranteed and will depend on organizational priorities

WHAT YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR

Logistics & Operations admissions support to select early engagement participants for Ignite and Jumpstart annually (65%)

Operations

  • Coordinate the logistics of the pre-corps admissions process, ensuring smooth applicant progression and data tracking

  • Execute tasks such as launching decisions, managing inboxes, uploading decision documents, and ensuring follow-up communications are timely and accurate

  • Support the preparation and documentation of decision cycles, application materials, and applicant records

Risk & Issue Management Support

  • Flag risk-related issues or edge cases and support their resolution through documentation, coordination, and tracking

  • Support internal tracking of decision patterns, applicant flags, and cross-functional escalations

Cross-Team Coordination (25%)

  • Collaborate with the Selection Operations team to ensure clear handoffs and consistent experience across admissions phases

  • Coordinate with early engagement programs and admissions partners to confirm content, timelines, and messaging for all outgoing communications.

  • Support the creation and maintenance of resources and updates for internal staff via homeroom pages, email blasts, and guides.

  • Provide logistical support for pilots designed to test new components of the pre-corps admissions process.

 Team & Organization Partnership & Stewardship (10%)

  • Actively engage with the teams and work groups involved in early corps engagement

  • Participate in organizational initiatives, learning and development sessions, and key moments of cross-functional collaboration.

  • Serve as a flexible contributor, lending expertise and capacity to emerging projects and evolving team needs.

A WEEK IN THE LIFE

Over the course of any week, you’ll manage the deadline-to-deadline flow of pre-corps admissions logistics, tracking applicant movement, supporting decision cycles, managing inboxes, and flagging urgent issues for your manager or partner teams. You'll check in with Early Talent Partners to ensure decisions are aligned to their needs and troubleshoot any barriers that arise.

You’ll attend meetings cross functionally to stay aligned on timelines and needs. You may also support pilot rollouts or assist in compiling insights and documentation to help improve future admissions cycles. This role requires strong attention to detail, a commitment to operational excellence, and the ability to support both structured processes and fast-changing needs.

  • Experience and proficiency with the Teach For America selection model preferred

  • Minimum of 2 years of professional experience

  • Ability to prioritize and execute on multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining a high bar for accuracy and follow-through

  • Comfort using systems, spreadsheets, and project tracking tools to stay organized and share information clearly

  • Experience coordinating with cross-functional partners or stakeholders to ensure smooth handoffs and aligned actions

  • Proactive problem-solving approach with a willingness to ask questions, seek clarity, and jump in to support evolving needs

  • Deep commitment to fair systems that serve all applicants

YOUR FUTURE TEAM

This role sits on the Selection Unit, a collaborative team of 11 within the larger Admissions Team. You’ll report to the MD of Pre-Corps Admissions and work closely with cross-functional partners in Selection Operations, Ignite and other Early Talent. Together, we are building an admissions process that is rigorous, equitable, and deeply grounded in our mission and your work will be key to making it all run smoothly.
