Sr. Embedded Software Engineer (Starlink)
Skills
- Proficient development in C or C++ and experience with at least one of Golang, Python, or Rust
- Experience with embedded or low-level systems development and hardware-software integration
- Strong debugging, performance optimization, and testing skills
- Familiarity with networking protocols (TCP/IP) and distributed systems security considerations
- Comfort working with Linux and cross-compilation toolchains for embedded targets
Responsibilities
- Design and implement highly available, fault-tolerant embedded software for consumer devices and gateways
- Participate in architecture, design, and code reviews and produce maintainable, testable code
- Develop prototypes to validate designs and quantify constraints
- Collaborate with Starlink manufacturing teams to support in-house device production
- Write and maintain Linux-based software for common processors and microcontrollers (ARM, RISC-V, etc.)
- Create systems for automated test execution across virtualized and hardware-in-the-loop environments
- Build tools and processes to enable frequent, reliable software deployment, CI/CD, and large-scale telemetry
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, or STEM discipline and 5+ years experience
- OR 7+ years professional software engineering experience in lieu of a degree
