Senior Software Engineer - Agentic Commerce & Automation
Skills
- Strong Node.js and TypeScript backend development experience
- Experience building and consuming RESTful and/or GraphQL APIs
- Production experience integrating external APIs at scale
- Comfortable with SQL (PostgreSQL/MySQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB) datastores
- Familiarity with React or modern frontend frameworks at integration level
- Solid understanding of web application architecture and service boundaries
- Proficiency with Git, PR workflows, CI and automated testing
- Experience improving observability, monitoring, and system reliability
- Ability to document systems and communicate technical decisions clearly
- Experience working with sensitive data and compliance (PCI, SOC2, HIPAA) preferred
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain platform services and APIs that support merchant integrations and external partners.
- Implement integrations with ecommerce platforms (for example, Shopify) and other commerce systems.
- Write clean, extensible backend code in Node.js and TypeScript and contribute to integration-level frontend surfaces as needed.
- Scope solutions, identify tradeoffs, and break work into deliverable units in technical design discussions.
- Collaborate through code reviews, pairing, and group problem-solving to raise team engineering standards.
- Improve system reliability, observability, and performance across platform services.
- Evolve integration architecture to scale for more partners and higher traffic.
- Write and maintain technical documentation for services, APIs, and development practices.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
- Relevant professional experience may substitute for formal degree
