- Experience with Golang, Python, or Rust for tooling and services
- Strong Linux systems and low-level software experience
- Embedded systems development and debugging on ARM/RISC-V
- Knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP) and telemetry systems
- Familiarity with RF fundamentals and electronics
- Experience with CI/CD, automated testing, and hardware-in-the-loop testing
- Security-minded approach for distributed systems and internet services
Responsibilities
- Design and implement highly available, fault-tolerant consumer devices with long operational lifetimes
- Develop Linux-based and low-level software for common processors and microcontrollers (ARM, RISC-V, etc.)
- Participate in architecture, design, and code reviews
- Create prototypes to validate designs and quantify constraints
- Collaborate with Starlink factory teams to manufacture and deploy devices
- Build test systems across virtualized and hardware-in-the-loop environments
- Develop tools and infrastructure for CI/CD, automated testing, and scalable telemetry
- Support deployed devices, diagnose issues, and implement performance and reliability improvements
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, math, or a STEM field OR equivalent experience
- Advanced degree in a relevant technical field is a plus
