- Ability to support long hours/weekends for critical milestones
- ITAR-eligibility or ability to obtain required authorizations
Responsibilities
- Own hardware from conceptual design through production, certification, and in-flight operation for aircraft installations
- Develop design criteria, collaborate on requirements, and drive system-level optimization and trade studies
- Perform analysis including hand calculations, FEA, and CAD modeling to validate designs
- Rapidly iterate designs to inform system trades and product direction
- Lead design reviews and work with FAA designees to certify components and systems
- Create detailed production drawings using GD&T and perform tolerance stackup analysis
- Drive DFM and process improvements to reduce part/process counts and error sources
- Establish efficient product lifecycle processes from supplier to final integration and production ramp
- Plan and execute environmental and performance testing to validate hardware
- Own product delivery timelines and demonstrate extreme ownership at every development stage
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline (required)
- Master’s degree in engineering or related technical discipline (preferred)
