- Proficiency with SolidWorks or similar CAD tools
- Experience in rapid design and prototyping environments
- Structural analysis and finite element analysis (FEA) skills
- Familiarity with destructive and non-destructive structural test methods
- Knowledge of manufacturing methods, material selection, and design for manufacturability
- Experience developing system requirements and providing technical leadership
- US citizenship and ability to obtain U.S. security clearance
Responsibilities
- Design mechanical components and full assemblies for unmanned aerial vehicles and systems
- Define and execute integrated design, analysis, manufacturing, and test plans from requirements through fielding
- Collaborate with electrical, aerospace, and materials engineers, as well as customers and vendors
- Participate in ground and flight testing and interpret test results to drive design changes
- Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and subject-matter expertise to engineering teams
Education
- B.S. or M.S. in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
- 7+ years of relevant mechanical/aerospace engineering experience
- US citizenship (required for clearance sponsorship)
