PCB Manufacturing Engineer (Starlink)
Skills
- Working knowledge of PCBs, laminates, and microelectronics fabrication
- Experience with supplier quality processes (PPAP, APQP) and quality systems (ISO/AS9100/NADCAP)
- Statistical techniques: SPC, DOE, Six Sigma
- Root cause analysis methods (8D, RCCA)
- Electronics manufacturing knowledge, preferably high-speed/RF PCB experience
- Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills
- Cross-functional collaboration and influencing skills
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work with minimal oversight
- Willingness to travel up to 25-50% and work extended hours when required
- Ability to develop process controls and drive supplier performance metrics
Responsibilities
- Own continuity of supply for PCBs and components on the Starlink program.
- Collaborate with design, R&D, commercial supply chain, reliability, and production teams to manage suppliers and deliver production-ready hardware.
- Support procurement in strategic part sourcing by assessing supplier manufacturing processes and quality systems.
- Identify, audit, qualify, and onboard new PCB and component suppliers.
- Develop and implement supplier technical requirements and quality flow-downs to meet manufacturing needs.
- Implement and monitor Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) and supplier qualification activities to enable rate production.
- Define and approve process controls for critical characteristics and drive SPC and yield-improvement efforts.
- Analyze supplier quality and delivery metrics, identify trends, and execute supplier improvement plans.
- Lead supplier root cause failure analysis (RCCA) and corrective action processes for quality escapes and containments.
- Provide technical feedback and recommendations to suppliers to reduce cost, cycle time, and defects.
- Act as liaison between purchasing, engineering, and manufacturing to resolve supplier issues and provide technical support.
- Lead cross-functional projects and present status/reports to internal teams, management, and suppliers.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline (required)
- Advanced degree in engineering, business, or supply chain (preferred)
