- Hands-on fabrication, assembly, and testing experience
- Knowledge of fluid systems, valves, and pressurized components
- Experience reading and creating engineering drawings and CAD models (e.g., NX)
- Manufacturing process knowledge: machining, welding, tube bending, structural assembly
- Troubleshooting hardware and performing root cause analysis
- Familiarity with telemetry/test instrumentation and post-test data review
- Basic scripting/data tools (Python, SQL, PowerBI) for analysis and automation
- Strong written and verbal communication and cross-functional collaboration
Responsibilities
- Develop and improve integration, manufacturing, and test processes for flown Merlin engines
- Own critical flight hardware, systems, and/or processes and ensure mission readiness
- Implement and maintain hardware verification and validation using automation and process controls
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and test/launch sites to process flown M1D hardware
- Troubleshoot ground and flight operational issues and implement hardware/software fixes
- Manage engine fleet configuration as design improvements are introduced
- Support engine test and flight operations and perform detailed post-operation data review
Education
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline (required)
- Master's degree in aeronautical/astronautical or mechanical engineering (preferred)
