Skills
- Hands-on assembly and test experience in manufacturing or production environments
- Familiarity with fluid and electrical systems testing and instrumentation
- Experience with pneumatic, hydraulic, and structural assemblies
- Proficiency with test equipment, data acquisition, and automation
- Basic scripting or scientific programming (Python, MATLAB, or similar)
- 3D CAD for mechanical/component and tooling design
- Knowledge of metallic manufacturing processes and GD&T
- Root cause analysis and process documentation skills
Responsibilities
- Oversee assembly and testing of Falcon and Falcon Heavy launch vehicle subassemblies
- Collaborate with design engineers to transition designs from concept to production-ready hardware
- Develop, qualify, and refine manufacturing and test processes for high-volume production
- Design and implement tooling and test solutions to enable consistent, high-quality builds
- Investigate non-conformances, implement root cause corrective actions with Quality
- Plan and execute capital equipment, machine, and layout upgrades to meet production demand
- Mentor team members and promote technical excellence across teams
- Interface with subject matter experts, technicians, and cross-functional teams to solve production challenges
Education
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline or physics (required)
