Hardware Design Engineer, Electrical - Satellites (Starlink)
Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or physics
- 1+ years designing circuits, electronic products, or hardware (internships/co-ops count)
- Experience with mixed‑signal designs and power electronics
- Familiarity with processors, FPGAs, Ethernet, multi‑GHz SerDes, and DDR interfaces
- Hands‑on testing, troubleshooting, and debugging of electronics
- Proficiency with Python and/or C/C++
- Ability to work cross‑functionally in a fast‑paced hardware development environment
- ITAR eligibility (U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee) due to export regulations
Responsibilities
- Develop high‑reliability electronics for satellite and spacecraft applications
- Drive system trades, capture requirements, and select components
- Perform schematic capture and provide PCB layout oversight
- Prototype, bring up, debug, and test electronic hardware
- Support production, satellite integration, and flight operations
- Collaborate with mechanical, thermal, software, test, silicon, and supply chain teams
- Drive requirements for underlying silicon and system‑level performance
- Document designs, participate in manufacturing handoff, and iterate based on test results
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or physics (required)
- Master’s degree in electrical engineering or similar (preferred)
