- Proficient software development in C++ (production code)
- Experience with Python and/or MATLAB/Simulink for modeling and prototyping
- Attitude determination and state estimation algorithms
- Control theory and feedback control implementation
- Experience with inertial navigation and GNSS concepts
- Design and operation of phased array antenna systems and beam-steering logic
- Modeling, simulation, and dynamics (classical mechanics)
- Linux development and deployment experience
- Ability to produce validated, production-ready embedded software
Responsibilities
- Design and analyze GNC logic for Starshield phased array antennas
- Develop real-time angular and translational navigation using onboard sensors and optimal state estimation
- Create beam-steering and tracking/hand-off logic to maximize link integrity in challenging environments
- Develop GNSS-independent PNT algorithms and translational estimation without GNSS ranging/timing
- Design algorithms for high-velocity and high-maneuverability platforms
- Support hardware development, specification of sensor packages, and customer triage
- Derive models and build high-fidelity simulations for validation of prototype features
- Implement, unit test, validate, and deploy production C++ software
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support testing, integration, and operational deployments
Education
- Bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering, computer science/software engineering, or related engineering discipline (required)
- Master's degree or PhD in engineering or physics (preferred)
