Responsibilities
- Lead mechanical design and validation of a low-temperature plasma-based metrology sensor platform
- Collaborate with cross-functional team (electrical, software, product) to develop and integrate the sensor into high-volume manufacturing lines
- Perform fundamental studies to characterize sensor sensitivity and platform performance
- Design motion-control mechanisms, specify motors/stages/gearboxes, and perform tolerance and GD&T analysis
- Execute static/dynamic stress, vibration testing and analyses to inform design decisions
- Create and maintain technical documentation: requirements, 3D/2D CAD, assembly drawings, test plans and reports
- Interact with customers to gather feedback and iterate designs for rapid integration
- Manage supplier relationships and source parts for prototypes and production
Education
- B.S. or M.S. in Mechanical Engineering (required)
- Minimum 6 years of relevant industry experience (required)
