Skills
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering and 1+ year experience with mechanical structures (academic, extracurricular, or professional)
- Experience with mechanical design, fabrication, and hands-on assembly
- Familiarity with CAD (Unigraphics/NX preferred) and drawing standards
- Knowledge of structural analysis and finite element analysis (FEA)
- Understanding and application of GD&T
- Experience with fluid/high-pressure system design (preferred up to 30,000 psi)
- Basic programming and scripting (Python, JavaScript, HTML/CSS preferred)
- Data acquisition, controls, and instrumentation experience
- Ability to travel up to 25%, work at heights, and perform physical tasks
Responsibilities
- Develop test stand concepts, produce fabrication drawings, wiring schematics, and instrumentation lists
- Design and analyze structures, fluid systems, and mechanical mechanisms
- Supervise integration of test stands including fabrication, mechanical assembly, and data/control systems
- Operate test stands with high attention to detail and execute development tests per procedures
- Drive test projects from concept through completion and document test results
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (required)
- Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline (preferred)
